Fall Inspired Makeup Look With Coastal Scents Fall Festival Palette

Fall and Spring are my favorite season of the year. As soon as October rolls around, you can feel the cool air settle in and the trees and leaves start to change colors. My workplace is located nearby a fairly large cemetery and every time I drive by, I just can't stop but thinking wow it's got some of the prettiest trees in town with all sorts of colors. But every day, I see less and less leaves on the trees and by mid November I think they'll all be dead.

So I was inspired to do this fall makeup look and I pulled out my Coastal Scents Fall Festival, which has just the colors I needed for this look. I'm not doing anything for Halloween so eh I guess I won't be doing any Halloween makeup.

Circle Lenses Review - G&G Shinny Pink and Vassen Sirius Grey

Few weeks ago when PinkyParadise had a free shipping promo, I decided to order a couple more lenses. I've been trying these out for a week now and love them!

G&G Shinny Pink ($25.90)
Diameter: 14.5mm
Water Content: 38%
Base Curve: 8.6mm / 8.9mm

So I've been wanting pink lenses for quite some time and after looking at pictures of many of them, I finally decided to go with these and I'm so glad that I did.
The design of the G&G Shinny Pink looks very natural. Probably the most natural design I've seen on contact lenses. The color seem to vary a bit depending on the lighting but for the most part it appears like a medium brownish pink. I'm totally digging it. It's different but in a good way. Next time, I order I'm getting the green ones from this series. They feel light and are so comfortable. I could wear them all day without problem.

Vassen Sirius Grey ($23.90)
Diameter: 15.0mm
Water Content: 42%
Base Curve: 8.6mm

People can definitely tell you are wearing colored contacts when they look up close but with just a little distance the Vassen Sirius Grey look fairly natural. I think if the dark edges were better blended (like the G&G Shiny lenses), it would look much more natural. Aside from that, they are still pretty and have a good color pay off. On my dark brown eyes, they look like a medium grey. These are also light-weight and very comfortable.

As always, free cute animal cases are included with each pair of lenses.

What is your favorite pair of colored lenses?

NYX Wicked Lippies Haul and Swatches - Risque, Trickery, Mischievous

Happy Humpday! Gosh I wished it was Friday already!

I'm so excited about this haul! When I first heard that NYX released this new collection, I knew I just couldn't wait to get a few of them. My order took some time to arrive but it's here finally!
In all there are a total of 12 shades, in which most of them are unconventional colors. I know it's not going to fit everyone's taste but for the weird ones like myself, it's a breath of fresh air to get more color options that are affordable. Besides, Halloween is approaching and these would be great for creative makeup looks.

Currently, I think they are only available from the NYX website for $6.00 each.

Anyhow...I only picked out 3 shades, though I kinda wanted them all, lol. Again, self control...Well sort of not really. I guess the fact that I've collected a few OCC lip tars and MBA lipsticks in the past couple months helped satisfy my cravings so I skipped the blues and purples. Perhaps I will get a few more when they become available and on sale at Ulta. From the reviews I've read there are some inconsistencies between shades.

Risque, Trickery, Mischievous

Risque, Trickery, Mischievous

Risque is a medium dark shimmery emerald green. It looks quite frosty but it's fabulous still and I love it. It has a creamy feel but it's not slippery. It's quite pigmented and applied evenly. You do need at least a couple swipe though in order to get an even and opaque coverage. Out of the three I got, this is the one that had the best application. Be aware that it does leave behind a bruise-like stain when you remove it.

Trickery is a dark dirty shimmery olive. Quite a unique shade for lips and I knew I had to have it. It's not as golden as I expected it. Some people said it had gold shimmers but they are very subtle and almost undetectable once on the lips I must say. Formula was creamy and almost opaque. Definitely needs a few swipes to build up the color and coverage. You can't tell from afar but when looking up close, it's not as opaque as I would like. In spite of the minor flaw, I would still rock this though.

Mischievous is a medium warm shimmery gold. Just the color I wanted! However, there's a small problem. It's not opaque. It's more like a sheer to medium coverage. The good thing is that the formula is creamy on all the ones that I got. I didn't think they were either moisturizing or drying but rather comfortable on the lips.

Lastly, I got a free gift, which I thought was pretty cool. I got a lip pencil in the shade Nectar. It seems all the people who order these lippies got the same lip color pencils as well.

Nectar is a shimmery medium rose pink. It's pretty but feels a little dry. I wished it was a tiny bit more creamy.

So this concludes my haul and swatches...Let me know if you ordered any of these or if you plan on to, tell me which shades you'll get.

Finger Paints Queen For A Night

I spotted this new nail polish from Finger Paints on my last trip to Sally Beauty Supply.

Queen For A Night is a dark blue with subtle purple and teal shimmers. The formula is pretty easy to work with, it's not too thick or thin and pretty pigmented. It's not quite a one coater but nearly there. I would do 2 coats to even out the color and application. There is a bit of duochromeness to it at certain angle and lighting. I wished the shimmers showed up more.

NYX Simply Vamp Lip Cream Swatches and Review - Bewitching, Enamored, She Devil, Temptress

Happy Monday! Yay finally got around to testing these new NYX lip pencils.

Packaging
  • retractable jumbo pencil with a clear plastic cap
  • .11 oz or 3 g

Product
  • Bewitching is a slightly dark cherry red with a semi-matte finish.
  • Enamored is a deep shimmery cool toned brown with a reddish metallic finish. This shade had a more even application and I find it quite unique.
  • She Devil is a deep burgundy with a semi-matte finish.
  • Temptress is a dark purplish plum with a semi-matte finish. This one will leave a bright pink stain behind. Personally, I find that rather annoying.
  • The pigmentation was excellent. The texture of all these were creamy and applied smoothly. They also felt light-weight.
  • The main problem I have with these is that they look a bit blotchy, especially when you look up close. You will need to exfoliate and prime your lips prior to application. The formula will highlight and cling on to dry patches so the smoother your lips are the better and more even the application will be. Another suggestion to help with the blotchiness is to pair them with a lip liner.
  • They didn't feel moisturizing nor drying but they are more comfortable with a lip balm underneath
  • They last 3-4 hours before they start fading.
  • They are unscented.

Final Thought

Overall, I like them even if I wished they had a more even application. They go on creamy even if they are not moisturizing. I also love that they feel comfortable and light-weight. These colors are perfect for fall or for those who enjoy wearing vampy colors. My favorite shades are Enamored and She Devil.
