Neon Orange Makeup Look

Hello lovelies,

It's time for another makeup look. I didn't know what to do with myself yesterday so I decided to have some play time with makeup, lol.

Since I've rarely used my 120 eyeshadow palette, I decided to put it to use for this look. I was instantly drawn to the neon orange on the second row from the top.

Keep reading for how I achieved this look...

Product Used:

Face

Eyes

  • I first primed my eyes with Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer
  • I then used the NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk and applied it and blend to the center of my lid. When dealing with light or matte color, using a white base will help bring out the color.
  • I first then used a grey eyeshadow from the palette and applied it to the inner and outer corners. Blend them together on the crease.
  • To soften the transition on the crease, I used a medium brown eyeshadow from the palette.
  • On the outer V, I used a black eyeshadow to deepen the color just a bit.
  • I applied the neon orange eyeshadow on the center of my lid by patting it over the white base.
  • I used a light shimmery gold eyeshadow on the brow bone.
  • Make sure all the colors are blended seamlessly.
  • I lined my upper lash line with Physicians Formula Eye Booster in Ultra Black
  • Lined my waterline with Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon Blacquer. On the lower lash line, I used a pencil brush and smudged the dark grey eyeshadow
  • For my brows, I filled them in with Illamasqua cream eyeshadow Intrude
  • I used ELF natural eyelashes to complete the look.

Lips

  • NYX Butter Lipstick Licorice
  • Lime Crime Carousel Gloss Present

Maybelline Dare to Go Nude Spring 2014 Limited Edition Color Tattoo - Sleek & Spice, Caramel Cool - Swatches and Review

I was beginning to lose hope that this collection may never make it to my area. It's been all over the Internet like a month or two ago and my local Walgreens just started to display it like a week ago. I was lucky I got there when the display was fully stocked. I was a little tempted to get more than what I needed but I'm glad that I was able to control myself this time and grabbed just these two new Color Tattoo.

Packaging
  • They come in a clear glass jar packaging with a black cap.
  • .14 oz or 4g
Product
  • Sleek & Spice is a medium shimmery brownish taupe color with a slight pink tone to it. Initially I thought that I may have another cream eyeshadow similar to this one one but I actually don't.
  • Caramel Cool is a medium shimmery bronze. I like the fact that it's more of a muted bronze and find it easier to wear for a softer daytime look.
  • I love the formula of these newer Color Tattoo. They feel smooth and creamy whereas the original and permanent Color Tattoo feel rather thick and a little tacky. They are also really easy to apply and blend. The pigmentation is also wonderful.
  • I wore then for 12 hours and they were bullet-proof! No creasing, no fading. They looked just as nice as when I first applied them. This makes me really happy.

Final Thought

I'm definitely going to get a lot of use from these new Color Tattoos. I feel that Maybelline has really improved on the formula. It applies like butter and blends effortlessly. The long lasting and crease-free formula is fantastic.

Revlon Electric Chrome Spider-Man Killer-Watt Lipgloss - Swatch and Review

I was giving my sons a hair cut last weekend and I was thinking about getting some straight bangs so I decided to go for it and chopped them. My reaction was hmm looks so different...perhaps it was a mistake, lol. I don't feel like it really suit my face. When I walked in to work on Monday, everybody looked at me a little funny. I guess I just need to get use to it?

Out of the 3 glosses from this collection, I only picked up one and I guess in a way I'm glad I did.

Packaging
  • Love it. The gold spider web design on the cap looks pretty damn cool on this gloss. Plus it's all pretty and sparkly inside. Making it hard to resist. It comes with a doe foot applicator.
  • .13 oz or 3.8 ml

Product
  • Killer-Watt is a very sheer strawberry pink gloss with lots of pretty sparkling shimmers. Sighhh...yes, unfortunately my fear has been confirmed...It's so sheer it kills me. Ok ok...I guess in a way I can live with it. It adds a bit of shine and just a light touch of color. Still better than nothing.
  • The formula is not too thick or too think and non-sticky. Kind of nice actually and comfortable. It does fade rather quickly, about 2 hours of wear.
  • It has a slight sweet scent to it.

Final Thought

The packaging is beautiful. Too bad they didn't make this gloss a little more pigmented. Other than that, it feels rather nice and add just a little bit of color and shine to my pale lips. Still a nice addition to my collection.

Revlon Electric Chrome Spider-Man Collection Haul and Swatches

I stopped by Walgreens the other day to pick up some cough medicine for my daughter and looked around the beauty isle as usual. I spotted the new Revlon Electric Chrome Spider-Man collection fully stocked and my jaw just hit the floor, lol. O-M-G look at those preciouses! I was ecstatic! They look so vibrant, glowy, and a bit duochromatic in the bottle. I knew right then and there that I had to get every shade and the funny thing is my silly self ended up getting 2 of the same color without realizing it until after I got home.

They had 3 lipglosses and though they looked really pretty in the bottle, they seem like they'd be sheer so I decided to only get one. I will do a separate post for the lipgloss.

The nail polish collection consists of 6 shades...Most of the shades only required two coats for full opacity. The lighter shades needed 3 coats. The formula isn't the greatest as I find it to apply rather unevenly. It's not too thin or thick; however, it's totally manageable as long as you apply carefully.

I gotta say, the packaging is sick! The gold spider web design on the caps make these look bad ass! I can't wait for the movie to come out.

1000 Volt - shimmery gold with a bit of green in it but isn't really a duochorme. So much prettier in person though. 3 coats.

Electrified Web - bright, shimmery, vibrant orange, shifting from a warm orange to a deeper orange and pink. 2 coats.

Spidey Sense - bright shimmery pinkish red with some warm undertone. Doesn't really shift color but still beautiful. 2 coats.

Gwen's Crush - shimmery bright magenta with subtle blue shimmers. 2 coats. I almost didn't pick up this one since I have a couple similar shade.

Super-Powered is a deep shimmery blue. Super pretty and I probably have a couple similar color to this one.

I'm Electro - dusty light blue with vibrant blue shimmers and a light pink duochrome shift. 3 coats. My favorite one of the collection. If you're only getting one, this should be the one!

I decided to add Sephora Formula X Thunder (glitters) and Out the Door Northern Lights hologram top coat to get this super pretty nail look.

Have you spotted this collection yet? Will you get anything?

L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick, Fuchsia Orchestra and Purple Prelude - Swatch and Review

I was fortunate enough to snag these lip colors on clearance at my local K-Mart a couple weeks ago because the store is closing down. I'm itching to go back there again yet I'm also afraid that I might end up buying stuff that I don't really need. I guess I need to stay focused on what I already have.

Packaging
  • They have a nice shiny metallic gold packaging which attracts lots of finger prints. There's a window on one side of the packaging that indicates the color of the gloss. The label on top and color at the base will also help you determine the color inside.
  • They also come with a doe foot applicator. It's shaped differently than the Wet Shine lacquers and has longer fibers.
  • .18 oz or 5.5 ml

Product
  • Fuchsia Orchestra is a bright and pigmented fuchsia color. It's very glossy and jelly-like. The pigmentation was a nice surprise and nearly opaque. This color actually stains. I get about 4 hours of wear and the stain last for a few more hours. It's a great color for spring and summer.
  • Purple Prelude is a soft semi-sheer mauvy rose with a nice glossy shine. This is a great every day shade. I get about 2-3 hours of wear but since this color doesn't stain once it wears off, there's not much color left.
  • The formula feels a little thick and cushiony but it's not sticky. They're hydrating and comfortable. I find that both shades applies fairly evenly.
  • They has a sweet fruity scents. Kinda smells like mango.

Final Thought

I love the cushiony and hydrating formula. Lasting power is average for a gloss and the pigmentation will vary from one shade to another. They do wear off much quicker if you are sipping on a drink or eating.

Rating: 8.5/10

Price: $8 - $9
Availability: Walgreens, CVS, Target

I have reviewed and swatched two other colors, Orange Tampo and Plum Adagio , you can view them HERE if you'd like.
