Blue Cream Eyeshadow Swatches

TGIF! Mannn it's been a long week, even though I did have Monday and Tuesday off but I am so swamped with work these few days that I've been too pooped to blog. Our office is having a huge reconstruction next week and along with trying to get some work done, I have to find the time to pack up and clean up my desk. I have a lot of files I need to purge and have been stacking them up around my cubicle because we have no more paper disposal bin available. My boss came around my area and was like "wow, what's all this?" And I replied "oh I'm just building a wall around me" lol.

Anyways, I got some new stuff I wanna show you but I haven't edited my pictures yet so this will have to do for now.

I just realized that I rarely wear blue eyeshadows, which is probably why these pots look barely touched.

Maybelline Color Tattoo
  • Blue Paradise - shimmery light blue with a subtle pink/blue duochrome. A bit sheerer and creamier than the other Color Tattoos from the permanent line. This one is limited edition. Crease-proof and budge-proof.
  • Tenacious Teal - shimmery medium teal blue with flecks of silver glitters. Crease-proof and budge-proof. As I've mentioned before, the Color Tattoos are a nice drugstore cream shadows that won't crease but they dry out in the pot faster than my high-end cream shadows. They feel drier and tackier after 6 months.
Illamasqua Liquid Metal Superior - deep metallic cobalt blue. It's gorgeous, it's pigmented, and it's creamy but that's as good as it can get. It's superior in pigmentation but really poor in staying power. This cream eyeshadow crease almost instantly. I couldn't get it to work with a primer, as a base, and with another eyeshadow...it will crease hopelessly! I really wanted to love this cream shadow. I was expecting better from Illamasqua.

MAC Paint Pot Pure Creation - medium cool-tone blue. Decent pigmentation and lovely formula that is buttery, crease-proof, and budge-proof.

What do you think of blue eyeshadows?

  1. I have the same problem with the Illamasqua liquid metals, all of them crease. It's a shame because they are really pretty colors.

    1. Yeah I was very excited when I swatched it on my hand but once I got to try it on my eyes, I was very disappointed.

  2. I'm sad that Blue Paradise was limited edition because it's such a beautiful color. I definitely love how the Illamasqua Superior swatches. Blue eyeshadows have slowly been a new love for me.

    1. I know what you mean, they're killing us with limited edition colors and sometimes they are hard to find. I certainly went hunting for them like a crazed woman.

  7. Superior looks so amazing, so sad its crease-y. I feel like royal blues in general are prone to seperating.
