Strawberry Festival, Foodies, and Goodies

Last Sunday, I went to Strawberry Festival in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, which is a small town about 20 minutes north of Milwaukee. It was a gorgeous day. Hot but bearable. I can't believe that after all these years that I lived in Milwaukee, I have never been to this festival. I'm glad I decided to go.

What I love about these festivals is checking out the food and merchandise. Finding parking was easy, well that is if you are willing to pay a small fee. I only paid $5.00 and literally parked right next to the festival. Because this is Strawberry Festival, you will find many food and drinks concoction that feature the fruit. So many things to see and so much food to eat. Love it!

I have to say that the food and goodies here weren't cheap but there were things that you wouldn't find just anywhere. I had about 50 bucks in my pocket so I was limited on cash, which is probably a good thing. Many of the things I liked were home goods. Pretty things you can buy to decorate and make your home more like home. I saw some unique jewelry pieces as well but they were pretty pricey.

I was tempted to buy a couple hair goodies but refrained myself. They looked very cool and pretty but the price was very discouraging. Perhaps, I can try to make myself some of these hair lacers. They seem pretty simple and easy to make.

These decorative metal artwork were beautiful. I love how the red and orange look with gold. It's such a pretty combination. I just had so snap a couple pictures. I wished I had bought one but I guess I'll save the money for next time.

Yes, there was live music too. The songs they sang were nice and pretty enjoyable. It reminded me of Elvis Presley or was it one of his song? IDK, lol...but you get the idea.

No, I didn't drink any alcoholic beverage. Now that I think about it, I kinda regret it a little but remember I only had small pocket change so I had to make it count. I snapped a picture of what they had to offer. I thought the strawberry beer was interesting. Perhaps I can try making some myself with some beer and strawberry juice, lol.

Now on to the fun part...We saw this food stand and it looked interesting. Apparently, they specialize in frying many things as you can see from the sign. We decided to try some fried cheesecake. This little piece of fried cheesecake is basically cheesecake wrapped in tortilla, fried, and topped with confectioners sugar. The tortilla had this nice crispy crunch to it, which made this cheesecake very yummy and enjoyable. This little cheesecake piece was $6 if I remembered correctly.

Look how huge this chocolate covered strawberry is! It's almost as big as the palm of my hand. I love how it was loaded with chocolate and perfectly ripe. It was $2.00 and quite satisfying.

Once we reached the end of the festival, I was starving. Weird, I would have preferred something a little less traditional but the pizza looked fresh and homemade so I just had to give it a try. It had like a pie crust texture to it, which was interesting and also tasty. I also liked the fact that it wasn't greasy. It was good but I felt like it could have been a little more flavorful. Perhaps a little more garlic and some parmesan would have been nice, lol. This was $6.00.

Fresh strawberry banana smoothie. It tasted kinda sour. I wished it was more creamy. It was $5.00.

I didn't get any kettle corn but it smelled good and fresh. It was interesting seeing how they cooked it in this huge cauldron.

Ahh yessss! I got to treat myself with some gelato for the first time! Please don't laugh, I know I'm pathetic already. I got 3 flavors: tiramisu, stawberry, and I can't remember the name of the third one, LOL. This huge bowl was $5.00. It was very flavorful and thick. It's hard to believe that it has less fat and sugar than regular ice cream.

Last but not least, I spotted these candy apples from afar and just had to get a closer look and take a picture cause they look so yummy! Ahhh look at all the flavors! It'd be hard to pick just one.

I'm pretty sure I will be attending their next festivals.

I spent a little over 2 hours there, just enjoying the weather, the ambiance, the food, and taking a stroll in the street. After that, I drove as fast as I could to get to my cousin's baby shower, where I stuffed myself with more food, lol.
