Wet N Wild Be Jeweled Collection With Swatches

Yesterday, after I got off work, I decided to check out this CVS store that newly opened close to where I live. I figure that since I had a 30% off coupon that I might as well just go and see if I find anything that I need.
The first thing I did was go straight to the beauty isle, lol. When I spotted Wet N Wild's Be Jeweled collection on the shelf, I was ecstatic! I have been looking for these babies for the past couple weeks. There was at least half of them still on display...Whew! My luck, I was able to get one of each color. My search is over...YAYYYY....at least for now.

Apparently, China Glaze is going to release a new collection very similar to these Wet N Wild polishes, also known as the Prismatic Chroma Glitters. I did not see them in stores yet but I hear they were available online in a few places. As I was typing this post, I decided to look them up and wow, I was able to get the entire collection off of Amazon for dirt cheap even after shipping cost. I'm twice as happy now, LOL. I will tell you more about it when I receive them :)

Anyways, let's go over this collection, shall we?

Born Into Privilege is  a light yellow green and gold duochrome with multi-glitters.

Bow In My Presence is a Teal and purple duochrome with multi-glitters

Jewels For Your Highness is a purple gold duochrome with multi-glitters.

Speak When Spoken to is a blue purple duochrome with multi-glitters. This one seems to look more duochrome than the rest, IMO.

The Crown Is Mine is a pink silver duochrome. It looks very similar to Jewels For Your Highness but lighter

Swatches on the nail wheels from left to right are (3 coats each):
  • Born Into Privilege
  • Bow In My Presence
  • Jewels For Your Highness
  • Speak When Spoken To
  • The Crown Is Mine

Here, I swatched them over a black polish in the same order with just one coat each. As you can see, the black base adds more depth to these polishes. They are absolutely gorgeous when you see them in person. I find the duochrome to be a little weak but there is a lot of sparkles and dimensions to these glitters. Without a colored base, they are a bit sheer but I think you can get a decent coverage with 3 coats.

Have you been able to snag these yet or still hunting for them?

Haul - Sephora VIB sale, Ulta, and the DermStore

Normally, I would have gone to the gym but since Sephora's VIB sale started yesterday, I ditched the work out, lol.

I didn't buy much at all in store but I might place an online order before the sale is over.

Sephora Haul
  • Sephora + Pantone Universe Blush Duo, $26.00 minus 15% discount
  • Too Faced Perfect Eyes waterproof eyeliner in Perfect Black, $18.00 minus 15% discount
  • Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover, $9.50 minus 15% discount. I exchanged the regular formula with the WP formula because it works a lot better.
  • Philosophy Miracle Worker Dark Spot Corrector, free by using 100 point perks
  • Free goodie bag filled with generous samples!
  • Free Sephora umbrella

I'm very impressed with how well this blush duo was packaged, although I do think it was unecessary and wasting a lot of paper. I find this new product and color quite interesting. I was also eyeing the lipgloss set, which I find very pretty but since I've done quite some damage recently, I decided to just get the blush duo.

The packaging of the blush duo is similar to Inglot's palettes, where you have 4 magnets on each corner.

I say both blushes' colors are pretty similar with just different finish, one being matte and the other shimmery. I'm not too sure how I feel about the shimmery blush but upon swatching, the shimmers are very out there. Both colors felt pretty smooth and pigmented.

I intended to pick up the Make Up Forever Khol eyeliner pencil in black but they were out of it. I read on Temptalia that it worked very well on the waterline. The SA suggested that I try this Too Faced eyeliner. It is very black and a bit more creamy upon application but give it a couple minute to set and this is supposely waterproof and budgeproof for up to 8 hours. I can't wait to see how it works on the waterline. This liner also comes with a smudge tip. I'm not sure if I'll make any use of it but it's still nice to have.

Wow, there is a lot of nice samples in this goodie bag. Here's what I got:
  • Boscia BB Cream
  • Sephora Full Action Extreme Effect Mascara
  • Make Up Forever Smoky Lash Mascara
  • Bumble and Bumble Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Especially Escada Solid Fragrance
  • Givenchy Mister Light

If you are a VIB, you also get this free umbrella. It looks very nice, sturdy, and well-made. There is a Sephora logo on the black side. The umbrella is also lined with a red fabric. I think that is a very nice touch. It sure doesn't feel cheap.

Ulta Haul

Apparently, my local Ulta didn't carry the Boscia brand in store but when they had the 20% off sale on all Boscia products, I jumped the opportunity to restock on my favorite creams.
  • Boscia Enlivening Amino-AG Eye Treatment, $30.40 (regular price: $38)
  • Boscia Restorative Night Moisture Cream, $38.40 (regular price: $48)
  • Boscia BB Cream delux sample, free with purchase of Boscia product
  • Free samples: Exuviance, Biore Cleanser, Ahava Extreme Firming Eye Cream

The DermStore Haul
  • Raw Skincare Ambiaty Concentrated Serum, $63.20 minus $25 gift card from March MyGlam bag. I am not familiar with this brand but apparently, it's one of the store's most popular skincare with the highest rating.
  • 2 Aquanil Cleanser samples, Free. I'm surprised they didn't give me something different as the second sample. Nonetheless, these were very generous free samples.

As far as skincare goes, I am set for the rest of the year, I think. I'm very pleased with the amount of samples I got for these hauls. I don't think I've ever gotten this many samples before.

Did you take advantage of the VIB sales or the 21 Days of Beauty from Ulta? What did you get?

Somewhat Cosmic, Purple Teal Gradient Nails

Nail polishes are undoubtedly one of my largest collection. I have this love and hate relationship with them. I love how they look on my nails; however, I really hate doing the job, lol.
Anyways, I came up with this nail look last night because I can't remember the last time I did one.
I must say, I am very pleased with the result. I am totally in love with it and I sure did get a lot of compliments today.

Materials used:
  • One coat of Zoya Ridge Filling basecoat (not pictured)
  • One coat of Milani Orchidia
  • With a sponge, I applied OPI Ski Teal We Drop to the tips of my nails, creating a gradient effect
  • One coat of Zoya Adina
  • I mixed two different colored glitters (blue and purple) with OPI base coat and applied them at the tips of my nails
  • One coat of Out The Door Northern Light
This nail look kinda looks cosmic, which isn't what I intended at first but turned out to look a bit like it. The purple/teal duochrome from Adina and tiny holographic glitters from Northern Lights really spice up this look.

I hope you enjoyed this look.

Swatches - Spoiled Nail Polish Glitters

Here I go again with more nail polish spams. I hope you don't mind. I have to keep up with my hauls you know. :)
I think these Spoiled polishes are only being sold in CVS stores. I have not seen them sold anywhere else but I could be wrong. They are very inexpensive. I can't remember the price but I think a couple bucks each.

Jewelry Heist is a pretty popular glitter because it's the one I always see being sold out. I can see why beause it's got such a pretty mix of glitters. It looks like a pot of precious gems. The swatches don't do much justice but I assure you you won't be disappointed when you see it in person.

Shuffle the Deck is a cute name and perfect for this polish which has red, silver, and black glitters. It really does remind you of the colors you see in a deck of cards.

I don't know how they came up with the name Pirate's Booty but I like the tiny gold and copper glitters in this polish. The base has a very slight yellow tinge to it. This makes a nice top coat on top of another color.

I love the mix of colors in Trust Fund Baby...blue, pink, gold, and black. The pink glitters are squared, which is cool and different cause they tend to be typically hexagonal or round in most polishes.

As with most glitter polishes, you may find yourself attempting to move the glitters around so that they are more evenly distributted across your nails. So the application is a bit of work, but if you like the mix of colors you are getting, I think it's worth the trouble.
The main gripe I have about these polishes is the huge brush applicator. It's like the size of two OPI brushes combined. I mean dang it's too huge for me because I have narrow nails. Another thing is the bristles are very unevenly cut. It's not so bad because these are glitters but I would hate having to work with that brush for applying nail color.

So tell me, which is your favorite Spoiled glitter?

Essie Swatches - Play Date & Navigate Her

I've been wanting these two polishes since the day I spotted them at Walgreens. I've tried very hard to control myself because everytime I see them in store, I'm always reaching for them, and then put them back on the shelf and leave.
My sister constantly kept reminding me that I shouldn't pay full price for these and that she could get them from the nail supply (for cheaper) for me. However, she is taking too damn long to deliver, puahhaha. So I took matters into my own hands when I got the $10 CVS gift card and $4.00 CVS coupon. That was a pretty sweet deal :D!

Navigate Her is from Essie's new spring 2012 collection. It's actually the only polish in that collection that I was interested in. The reason is I think this green polish looks very unique. I have not seen any other like it, at least not that I can recall. It's like a light sage green with a bit of yellow undertone and a creme finish. Pastel colors always reminds me of spring.

Here I have two coats in the swatches. The application was a bit uneven on the first coat but looked pretty good on the second pass. I'm very pleased that it wasn't streaking, which is usually a problem I find in light colors with creme finish.

Play Date is from the Go Overboard collection. I was tempted to get Go Overboard as well; however, I think that it looks close enough to OPI Ski Teal We Drop, that I decided to pass. The reason why I've been lusting over Play Date is because I don't think I have anything like it in my collection and I find the color very appealing. It's a gorgeous lilac color with creme finish. My camera doesn't really capture the true colors of purples. It actually has a bit more red undertone in real life than pictured.
Here I have two coats. The first coat is a bit sheered but the second coat applied beautifully and evenly.

On a side note, while I was shopping, I noticed that Rimmel Wild Orchid nail polish looked very close in color when I put the bottles side by side. When I google the swatch, it sure looks like a cheaper dupe for me. So you could get a similar color for half the price if you are going with Wild Orchid. Here is a link to the swatch that I googled so you can compare it for yourself http://www.stephscloset.com/blog/gallery/id/5844/rimmel-wild-orchid-nail-polish/
