My Adorable New Bag :D

It's that time of the month again, where I have to bust my chops harder and longer at work. **Sigh** So if I disappear this week, that would be why.
I left work at 7 pm tonight and just felt like making a pit stop at TJ Maxx, since it's always on my way home. I love how they often have new stuff so you never know what you gonna find. I always check the purse section and have been lusting over a couple Michael Kors bags but felt like I wasn't ready to spend the money on it just yet but I kept looking around anyways.
I spotted this striped black and white bag and it was LOVE! I normally don't fall head over heels for a bag, lol, but this one had me at Hellloooooo.
The design is simple, chic, classy, with an edge to it. Perfectly fits my style. I love how it doesn't look like your typical bag. The stripes really makes it fun and different and the gold metal adds a nice touch. It comes with a cute little tassle hanging on the side and detacheable straps.
I wish it was slightly bigger but it's still a pretty decent size and has enough room to hold the necessities.
The quality of the material is not the best in the market but it sure isn't bad either. It's pretty good for what I paid. The purse is very well made, in my opinion. The stitchings are nice and straight.
Totally loving this bag and the unique design. It cost me only $29.99. A price I'm pretty content with.

The brand is Nila Anthony. Not sure if you've heard of it but I haven't, lol. I just checked  their website and I think they do have some pretty cute bags. Although I can't find the exact same one that I just bought. The price range is average and range from $50 to $90.

If interested, feel free to check out their site. http://nila-anthony.com/Home.php

What do you think of my new bag? Would you buy something like this?

Wet Seal Haul

I may be a bit too old to shop at Wet Seal, lol, but I do my best to pick clothes that look flattering for my body type and appropriate for my age.

This is a small haul from Wet Seal during my last trip to the mall. The loose yellow top may not look like anything on the hanger but it's actually very simple and cute once I put it on. I think the two birdies are so cute lol. I got a few compliments when I wore this on casual friday. I prefer wearing loose fitting tops and jeggings/legging since I'm a little heavy on top. This was just $10.00.

Scavenging through Wet Seal's sales rack. I found this cute light beige lace ruffle top for $15.00. This is going to look great for work when paired with a cardigan.

I'm totally digging the rose print on this scarf. Looks very girly. I paid $10.50.

That's pretty much it for my cheap haul. I don't like buying expensive clothes unless they are significantly marked down and go with my style.

Do you like shopping at Wet Seal?

New Shoes - Ankle Strap Metallic Trim Pumps

The other day, I just felt like shopping so I went to the mall with my sister after work. I wasn't really looking for anything specific. Whenever, I stop by Charlotte Russe, I usually check their shoe section. I occasionally find a pair that I like.
I ended up buying these green pumps on clearance for $15.00, which is pretty cheap for a pair of pump like these. They were originally $38.50. There was also another one in a plum/wine color, which is available in limited size quality on Charlotte Russe's website.

To be honest, I was on the fence with these pairs because there was a couple things I didn't really like.

What I like:
  • I think the gold trim is a very nice touch.
  • I love the color. I dont' have any shoe this color. It's like a dark forest/teal green.
  • The criss-cross strap is also sexy.
  • The shoes feel light.
  • They make my legs look super long.
  • The price

What I don't like
  • The heel is very high (6 inches) but at the same time, there's a pretty big platform (2 inches) to alleviate the pressure on your sole. I'm usually not a fan of huge platform. I don't mind 1 inch but 2 doesn't usually appeal to me. The good thing is that the platform isn't too curvy so this gives me more control when I walk.
  • The comfort is average. I wished it covered my toes completely but my toe cleavage only shows slightly so it wasn't a deal breaker either.
  • I can't wear this to work. I usually pick shoes that are versatile but this is more of a party/going out shoes since they look a little more edgy.

Overall, not bad for $15.00. I'm hoping it doesn't just sit in my closet, lol.
What do you think of big platform and super high heels? Do they make you cringe?

My High-End Lipgloss Collection and Swatches

Here's just a quick post of my high-end lipgloss swatches. To be honest, MAC makes up for most of my lip products so I feel that it would need to have it's own post or category. I've already posted a post of my MAC lipstick collection and some swatches (by now, I must have acquired a few more already) but I have not done one with the MAC lipglasses.

Unfortunately, some of these high-end glosses were limited edition or discountinued but who knows if you might still be lucky enough to come across them. Nonetheless, I'm throwing it out there just for the love of blogging and because some of these shades are still available.

I listed a brief description of these in order from left to right according to the photos and swatches.

YSL Glosss Pur 49 black (limited edition). I purchased this one from allcosmeticswholesale.com a while back but it's no longer available there. However, when I googled it it seems like you may still be able to find it online. To be honest, I rarely reach for this, lol. I believe most people won't go for this type of shade anyways but I just bought for the quirk of having something unusual. Plus, considering it's the YSL brand and I got it for about half of its retail price, I thought eh why not?!

Josie Maran Natural Volume Lip Gloss Soledad. I got this as part of a value package from Sephora, which I did a review HERE. For lip swatches, you can view it in this post. It is still availabe for purchase if you are interested, you can find it on Sephora's website. This is a sheer coral lipgloss that feels nice on the lips and looks natural. It doesn't last very long unfortunately. To be honest, I wouldn't have purchased this on it's own due to the sheerness and price ($20).
Hourglass Extreme Sheen Siren. For review and additional swatches of this lipgloss, click HERE. This gloss is fantastic! By far, my favorite red. The formula is extremely pigmented, smooth, glossy, and metallic. I have not come across anything like it. I highly recommend if you love bright bold red lips. This shade is a stand out and I have got so many compliments when I wore this. Available at Sephora for $28.00.
Lorac Tie Dye for Gloss Berry Blender (limited edition). This came out with a set of  5 colors I believe and thet set was around $30. It thought it was such a great value deal. They were all pretty pigmented. I only kept this one. The rest of the shades were given as gifts. It has an interesting marble look in the packaging.

Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss Hermetic. I love intense metallic lipglosses because they are hard to come by and really make your pout stand out. I haven't come across anything like this shade either. It's a metallic burgundy plum. Gosh I bought a while back and should've done a review by now but still haven't. This is still availabe at Sephora for $20.00.

Chanel Rouge Allure Lacque Santal 77 (limited edition). I heard through Temptalia that these were being discontinued and I was quite sad when I heard the news because these are amazing! They are technically not lipglosses but more like liquid lipstick. For swatches and review of this shade, please click HERE. Otherwise, this is still available for a limited time on Chanel's website.

Chanel Rouge Allure Lacque Coromandel 72 (discontinued). I guess this is no longer available since I wasn't able to find it on Chanel's website. This is a very pigmented warm red. For additional swatches and review, check out this post.

Have you tried any of these brands? What's your favorite high-end lipgloss?

Smoldering Khaki Makeup Look

Last night, I had a bit of time to do my makeup but other than that, I was pretty much busy. I went to my kid's talent show and had a wonderful time. I was very impressed. The show was very entertaining. We had so many talented kids, including my daughter. She's a bit reserved and doesn't seem to have much confidence in herself but I know she can do much better. So proud of her!

Anyhoo, this is the look I sported yesterday. I opted for neutral colors and really wanted to try the No7 Eye Mousse I bought a couple weeks ago. I haven't done a review yet but sure will soon.

Face
  • NARS Casino as contour
  • NARS Sin as blush
Eyes
  • I used all over lids the No7 Stay Perfect Eye Mousse khaki.
  • I applied a dark matte brown from my NYX Nude on Nude palette for the crease and outer V.
  • I used a matte white eyeshadow on brow bone.
  • I lined the upper lash line with Physicians Formula Eyebooster ultra black and created a winged liner.
  • I lined the lower lash line and waterline with Prestige Total Intensity Daring Green.
  • I filled in my brows with Revlon Brow Fantasy
  • I added false lashes from Love & Beauty
Lips

So that's it for my makeup look. It looks simple but the smoky effect is actually a tad bit darker than pictured.

Zoya Tiffany Swatches

This is my second free Zoya polish that recently acquired. Tiffany is a shimmery peachy polish with very sparkly gold and coppery shimmers. The first coat is a bit sheer and uneven, the second coat a lot better, but you would need 3 coats if you want it to be fully opaque.
To my surprise, this shade looks very similar to Rica but when I swatched them side by side they are still not quite the same. Rica looks more like a pinkish coral whereas Tiffany looks more like a coppery peach. They are stunning and so glitzy!

What's your favorite Zoya shade? I've been loving all of the ones I've got so far.

Zoya Marina Swatches

This is one of the free polishes that I got from Zoya's promo a couple weeks ago. Marina is bluish grey with some silver shimmers running through it, giving it a metallic finish look. The first coat is a bit sheer but it's pretty opaque on the second coat. The color is easy to work with and distributed evenly. I absolutely love this shade. This is the type of color I can see myself reaching for often.
From all the Zoya polishes I've tried, I'm pretty happy with the quality and drying time. I love that they often have promo codes, which allows you try their polishes without paying full price. During that time, shipping usually takes quite a while but it's not too bad, considering I have so many things I can play with in the meantime.

Beauty Haul From Last Sunday - MAC, Sephora, Walgreens, and CVS

This may look like a lot but it really wasn't! I think I did good if you ask me. Since I was out and about on Sunday, I went shopping like everywhere and got a little bit of everything, including clothes and shoes, which was posted on my previous posts.

From MAC, I just bought the brush cleanser, which is so far the only one I've been using for the past few months and been loving it for spot cleansing.

From Sephora, I purchased the new Prisma Chrome eyeshadows in the shade Moon Beam.  My camera just can't do justice to show it truly looks in real life. Moon Beam literally glows like a pearl in the pan. It's a gorgeous light beige with iridescent pink tinge to it.  I don't have anything similar to this in my collection and out of the 10 shades they had available, this one stood out to me. These new single eyeshadows are a little pricey, $15.00 a pot but you do get a significant amount of product though. It's listed as limited edition on Sephora's website so you might want to check those out before they are gone if you find them interesting.

The iridescent pink shimmers was hard to capture on camera but you can see a little bit of it at the top.

I redeemed my 100 points reward for this sample size of Guerlain Automatique lipstick. It's so little and cutesy! I love how it came in this fancy looking little paper bag. These won't be around for long so if you have enough points, go get this little mini lippie just because it's Guerlain.

I have the shade 120, which is also called Coque D'or. I haven't swatched it yet but it looks like a warm red with gold shimmers.

On the back of the mini lipstick packaging is listed the name and color scheme of the available shades from the Guerlain Rouge Automatique line. IDK but I'm so tempted to buy one just because it sounds so fancy! LOL.
Sephora was giving out some free samples so I grabbed a handful.

There was a Walgreens next to the DSW where I bought my boots from. Didn't see anything I wanted beside these two Revlon nail polishes. I bought Posh and Sassy. Posh is like a dark jade green color, I first noticed it when Steph did her recent haul and I really liked the color so I've been wanting to get it. Sassy is a lime green color. Both are creme finishes.

While I was looking around Walgreens for stuff to buy, lol, I found these pink eyelashes! So cute! I'm pretty sure most of you don't use colored lashes but I've used a few colored lashes on some of my makeup looks and I absolutely love how they complemented the looks I did. I'd buy them in every color if I could!

I saw Nouveau Cheap do a swatch of this Wet N Wild eyeliner and I was sold! LOL. It was very pigmented, which was a nice surprise. My experience with drugstore felt tip liners was that they always dried up too quick or were difficult to apply because the color doesn't glide evenly on the skin. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if this one dried up fast either but we shall see.

Dark brown was so dark, it almost looks black.

I scooped the new Cover Girl Blastflipstick lip duo in Flashy. I was having a hard time deciding which shade to pick. The reason I got this was because I was curious about the product and able to get $2 extra care bucks back.

If you didn't know it, CVS is currently having 75% off on select Milani products. The store I went to had a pitiful selection so I only got these two items. Don't know what I did with the receipt but they were just a couple bucks.

Milani Grape-Tini lipstick. What a cute name! This is like a mauvy light purple with some gold shimmers. I'm a sucker for this type of shade!

Milani Minerals Blush in Mai-Tai. This looks like such a pretty coral. It reminds me of the color of a guava, lol.

Well that's it for my little haul. What's the latest deals you've spotted at the drugstores?
