Essie Swatch - School of Hard Rocks and Over the Knee

Yes, it's another nail polish post. I know I have been on a roll with the nail polish spam (and there is more to come) but that is because I have been buying them like crazy lately so if I don't post them ASAP, then I'm going to forget or won't be able to keep up. Plus, I'm so excited to share them with you because I just love nail polish and I'm always on the look out for the new or unique colors.

School of Hard Rocks was part of their Cocktail Bling collection for Winter 2011. I have seen it spotted at Walgreens but I think you should be able to find them wherever Essie is sold. It was the only color that I really felt that I needed to get. I'm debating if I should get Cocktail Bling.
Anyways, Essie describe this as a midnight malachite. If I have not seen the picture and someone just told me that, I would have been like WTH is that, lol. I stick to simple descriptions so to me this is a muted teal color with a cream finish. And that is what makes it interesting. I have not seen a color like this out there but if you know of any dupe for it, feel free to share.

Essie describes Over The Knee as a shimmery cocoa brown. For some reason, when someone say cocoa, I think of a much darker color. It's a beautiful earthtone color. I say this is a medium brown, slightly mauvy, with very fine pink and gold shimmers. The shimmers are so fine that they are barely noticeable when they are on the nail. I believe this is just part of their regular line so you should be able to get it any time you want.

The application and formula for both of these were a breeze. Two coats and you are good to go.

Which is your favorite Essie polish?
